ahh, excellent. cards as weapons, via memepool
was getting impatient, rebooted the server a few minutes ago. been organizing my todo text files. what a crapload of work i have to do...
re-reading through ftrain again, now that everything is all organized. this still cracks me up:
someday i hope to be smart and witty
i should really learn jsp, yet i can't force myself to take up java again. it burns, it burns!!!
i think i'm on the way to getting my dns set up, but i've hit a snag trying to find the packages i need to install to actual get the stuff i need. will be d/l the bind rpms tonight and seeing what's going on. have to reboot my server tonight. it's been giving some weird hangs recently... not bad though, it's been up for 102 days... google is cool
Israelites Sue God For Breach Of Covenant - Israelites are seeking $4.2 trillion in punitive and compensatory damages.
i joined the acm finally (i was going two years ago b/c i was involved for a brief period w/ the now defunct usc acm). I also joined a bunch of sigs: SIGCAS, SIGCHI, SIGGRAPH, SIGKDD, SIGMOD, SIGWEB
sorta weird using a shopping cart to order memberships...
uh oh. i've been rereading my recent blog posts and i'm cringing. my tone of voice seems like that some sort of manic nut. i must not be the only one that sees this. plus i'm repeating myself in my prose and mannerisms. that's no good either
sigh. it sucks to be annoyed by who you realize you are.
i really like how ftrain is now organized. the about page explains the reasoning, and you know what, it makes a lot of sense. it's like something i'd want to do except i'm too lazy. -- oh wait, it's gpl'd. neet.
starting to get a bit cheezed off at blogger connection probs. will have to think about doing a total overall this summer...
jesus christ in a handbasket. now i really got to start pushing for everyone to boycott amazon. it looks like amazon just acquired patents to "Affiliate Programs." can't wait until they start suing ppl for that...
btw, did i mention the us patent office sucks donkey balls?
did i mention how cool it was not have any graphics or tables on my server for this page? the only graphics right now are the imood and blogger links. i feel so empowered not being forced to use pixel spacers and table kludges.
of course it looks good in lynx. ;-)
ars digita is looking for people. tell them leonard sent ya. i'm only 10 referrals away from a new ferrari.
doh, i don't have ndc on my redhat box. who'da thunk setting up a dns would be such a bitch. now i gotta d/l and compile it, blah blah blah. i'm tempted to go easydns, but i really should learn all this stuff... now if only i didn't have a paper that i'm procrastinating on (still have a whole hour to finish 4 pages...)
[llin@gsimun ~]$ which ndc ndc: Command not found.
heh. this is something i could never have possibly imagined. having my site linked from someone's resume. in fact, i thought i was the only one who listed weblogs as an interest on my resume. 19:28
this btw is a not so veiled hint for everyone to go take a look at my resume. . i actually went and dropped off a few resumes at the career expo on campus yesterday (css2 support would have saved some word reformatting that i needed to do). i may just end up freelancing this summer unless i get a really good internship offer.
i just bought three more books, the new oreilly php quick refrerence, and the new wrox php and asp books. from fatbrain, because i guess i might as well boycott amazon for their silly lawsuit deal.
hmm, how hard can bind be to set up? probably better off reading the general dns how-to. soon. soooon....
oh, i just learned that regexp really sucks. there is no way that it should be that hard to do multiline search / replaces... blech.
when i get a chance i should really take a look at the sxsw blog... yes i'm going back to the venerable tradition of bookmarking through blogging. because my to-read bookmark folders, scattered todo text files and the like just aren't enough.
MBNA lets you see your statement online, but not pay your statement... ;-/ well, i should really go to sleep. need to wake up at 8 tomorrow morning...
life is so much more satisfying now that i'm blogging again. i'm such a happy cog.
uh oh, gpl trouble w/ the quake code
i bought my plane tickets for sxsw yesterday. i'm excited.
i got my friend mark started on the whole blogging deal this past winter. just giving a shout out.
site design is starting to look dialed.
blogger editing wishlist: html event handling enabled for all html editing boxes, shift-enter does <br>, and ctrl-shft-p would do <p>, ctrl-shift-space does line break - maybe i'll do some custom xul programming. mozilla is my next project, xml is my next language.
these rfcs rock the house:
ok, i'm back online. i totally forgot how much i missed blogging. now i feel complete again. yay. i'm using the template i designed a long time ago. i'm still liking it although i wanna spice it up some without ruining the simplicity... i have lots going on. just finished the usc student elections site and won the andersen consulting www challenge case competition so i will have some cash soon. the only project stressing me now is 1) classes and 2) this javascript program that i've been putting off for a month.
i made a new resume. i like it, and it uses html/css well i think. i like my css width in a table trick. i think it's tres neato.
the wiggum quotes come from remedial genius. please visit and support them (w/ their letter deal if you can). i know that the simpson's writers and the net fans haven't been getting along recently, but really. pulling down fansites is just the wrong thingtm for fox to do.
hmm, i wish blogger let you resize the window height... and had ctrl-shift-p for new paragraph. oh fun thing: i'm running windows 2000 so my computers still up, but i have 34 ie windows, and 8 other program windows open (including outlook, ns4.72, homesite, and word). ie starts really messing up if i get up to 36 windows. i'm glad i'm running w2k (65k outstanding bugs or not). win98 would have croaked and died on me a while ago
