there are some impressive macro shots taken w/ a canon s10 and a 10x loupe.
amazing, amd has sold out of chips (athlon and k6-2s) for the second quarter.
since they're getting their asses whupped by palm, microsoft has a new ad campaign for ce 3.0 (pocket pc). based on the reviews i've read, while not as bad, ce still has the same old problems (i had a cassieopeia e-105 for a while in between my palm pro and my palm v, but i got rid of it because while it was on the one hand cool, it was just not as useful or responsive as a palm).
oh yeah, along those lines, this fnwire pretty good.
taylor makes some good points about mozilla in relation to netscape. as it gets closer to release, mozilla really does have to overhaul it's interface so that it is differentiated from netscape and made specifically useful for developers.
and they have a slick site as well. frickin neet.
jz is right, eNormicom is a must read. ;)
this is a really good idea. pretty cool as well.
Shippensburg University Students Study Mozilla Shippensburg University, here in Pennsylvania, is offering CS students an opportunity to participate in a large-scale development project, through work with Mozilla. Richard Pizzarro, Netscape engineer and Pennsylvania resident, helped set up the project for Dr. Carol Wellington's Software Engineering class. Richard hopes to start up additional programs throughout Pennsylvania's higher education system.
heh, awesome. unisys is kicking up licensing fees for gifs, asking accuweather for $3.8mill, so accuweather is switching over to png next month. lzw patent dies in 2003. mr mackey says software patents are bad, mmkay.
milestone 15 is out.

i've been behind in my reading, but i finally managed to start taking a look at the Resources on Information Design: Models, Processes, and Techniques article cam pointed out a few days ago. some good stuff linked from there.
i finally got a chance to catch up w/ an old friend, and he pointed me out to a cool site call slick deals that gathers up all kinds special offers. pretty cool stuff.
heh, wow, my site is one of two returned by yahoo's inktomi search on "Netscape6 +XML". the other site incidentally is the university of mannheim's ftp file listing.
i've been trying to cut down on my random web surfing the past few days because my backlog of work is starting to spiral out of control. suffice to say i will be pulling a fair share of allnighters this coming week. right now i have a fairly good schedule up until my 9am class. i'm doing ok, although i will begin to eat into my 1 hour slack time in about 25 minutes (running behind on finishing up my photo stuff).
my photo project, incidentally has been taking a _large_ chunk of my time. i'm doing quite a bit of manipulation and doing quadtone inkjet prints. i am going to try to get to burning some film in the next few days (film recorder, wee) and doing some chemical prints in the next week.
oh, phil askey posted up his coolpix 990 review. pretty sweet. i'll probably be waiting until the next round though, my 950 still has life in it yet.
